Mr. S.P. Agarwal
Mr. Agarawal has an established business in Lucknow. He has been the Chairperson of Manavodaya for more than thirty years and has solidly supported the institution all through its evolution. Mr. Agarwal is also active with the Chinmaya Mission in Lucknow and has close connections with Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. His rich experience with holistic change has served to guide the institution in the right direction.
Mr. R. Ramani
Mr. Ramani is a retired civil servant who has been Chief Secretary of the state of Uttar Pradesh. He has served in multiple key positions in the state including the Director General of the UP Academy of Administration which is responsible for training of all civil servants. Mr. Ramani has been participating in various dialogues and training programmes at Manavodaya for two decades and is currently the Vice Chairperson of Manavodaya.
Varun Vidyarthi
Varun Vidyarthi has a formal background in Engineering and Management. He worked for a short while with TATA Motors, abandoned the corporate career and started working in rural India. He has been Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex, U.K., Research Fellow at the East West Centre, Honolulu, U.S.A. and later Consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the U.N. He is also Adjunct Professor of Practice at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi where he conducts courses on Values Based Change. Varun and Amla started the institution Manavodaya that pioneered the Self Help Group movement in India. Varun has lectured in different institutions and universities across the world on practical methods of enabling people's participation.
Dr. Amla Vidyarthi
Dr. Amla Vidyarthi has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from I.I.T. Roorkee. She has been Research Fellow of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. She has worked as a Consultant to the Intermediate Technology Development Group, London. She has also worked as a Consultant to CAPART, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
Dr. Amla is a specialist in self help group formation and management. She has travelled widely in South Asian and African countries including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Philippines, Ethiopia, and Kenya for sharing knowledge on the subject.
Dr. Amla is recipient of a national award on Financial Inclusion. Amla and Varun were jointly conferred the Human Values award at the national level in India in recognition of their contribution to values-based management.
Dr. D.R. Sahu
Dr. Sahu is Professor and Head of Sociology at Lucknow University. He has a doctorate in Sociology from I.I.T. Kanpur and has been professionally engaged in teaching, research and extension activities for more than two decades. He has been an active member of executive of Manavodaya for almost ten years and has always contributed to our national and international programmes as a specialist in dynamics of social change.
K.N. Trivedi
Mr. K.N. Trivedi has served the Planning Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh in various capacities and retired as the Assistant Director of the Planning Research and Action Division. He has been associated with the work of Manavodaya for twenty years and often enlightened the participants on practical methods of project formulation.
H.K. Singh
Dr. H.K. Singh has been a Faculty Member in Medical Physics at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. He is an active member of the Sri Ram Chandra Mission Ashram in Lucknow. He is also an active farmer and strongly connects to the work of rural development at Manavodaya.
Dr. Vivek Gupta
Dr Vivek Gupta has served the IT sector in the corporate world for several years before joining the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, where he currently Professor in the faculty of Information Technology and Systems. He did his Masters from IIT Delhi and Ph.D. from Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Dr. Vivek is a multi-faceted, kind-hearted person who connects to several institutions, always persuading people to do their best
